Who is PCG?

Perry County Generations first opened it's doors, in Landisburg, on August 21st 2006. PCG is a small, privately owned, family business.  Fay Henry initially created PCG along with her daughter, Diane Shope. Fay's background was in Nursing Home Administration, while Diane was teaching Preschool at the Shippensburg University Head Start Program.  The original plan was to have an inter-generational Day Program for both children and senior adults.  Sadly, the adult side of care, never took off, and Fay decided that the program should become all children.  After seeing that transition through, Fay stepped away and Diane took the lead.

Many years later, PCG has grown to 3 locations. The original facility in Landisburg, our School Age Site, located in the New Hope Church, in Landisburg. Then our Shermans Dale location which opened in July/August 2018 and most recently our Duncannon location opened in March 2022.

We are very proud of who we are, and how far we've come.  Our main goal has always been to provide quality care and education to the children of Perry County.  All three of our locations are the only centers in Perry County that has achieved Star 3 & 4 Status within the Keystone Stars Program.

PCG is licensed by the PA Department of Human Services.  All of our centers are secure facilities with coded entries.  ALL staff have their PA State Police Clearance, Child Line Clearance, FBI Clearance and the National Sex Offender Registry Clearance.  All staff are also certified in Pediatric First Aid and CPR.

PCG is a Faith Based Program.  We are not affliated with any certain denomination.  We just chose to guide and expose the children to the wonder and glory of God, all around us.  We teach the children basic prayers and read a daily devotional with them and focus on the true meaning of Christmas and Easter, while also exposing them to secular songs, stories and fingerplays. Our basic philosophy is, "do unto others....".  We hope that the children will remember these lessons as they get older, and go out into the world, kind, compassionate, caring individuals.
